CID_JNC Version 1.3
CID_JNC logs and displays phone calls received using Caller ID and a
modem or an external device with Caller ID capabilities. CID_JNC has
the option to look up the caller name in a names database(phone book)
and append the name to the phone number received. If you have the NAME
feature from the phone company, you can disable the database lookup and
use the name information received from the phone company. CID_JNC will
write this information, along with the date and time to a log file, which
can be printed, or viewed at anytime.
CID_JNC installs into memory as a TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident)
program, and is always watching the phone line for a call to be received.
CID_JNC can also be executed as a NON-TSR application to make it compatible
with other operating systems that can run a DOS compatibility window.
CID_JNC is distributed as shareware. Please remember to register this
program if you use it past the thirty day trial period.
To install CID_JNC do the following.
1. Execute CID_JNC.EXE.
CID_JNC will initially bring you to the SETUP screen. Please enter
all of the parameters then press F2 to save the parameters.
2. Execute CID_JNC.EXE again.
Example: CID_JNC /I
The above will load CID_JNC into memory, and wait for a call to be
received.
Press LEFT-CTRL-SHIFT-1 at any time to view the phone log or to
access the phone book.
History :
July 6, 1995 Version 1.3
1. The modem selections for Practical Peripherals modems did not
select the correct formatted command for the modem. The command
should be %CCID=1.
2. The registration screen would not work properly if the registration
number is entered and there was no configuration file. Normally
this would not be the case, but it was corrected.
3. Added a wildcard option to the phone book phone number entry
field. The wildcard character is a '?'.
4. Corrected some documentation errors.
June 27, 1995 Version 1.2
1. There was a problem with the program properly reconfiguring the
communications port after Windows was exited. This problem has
been corrected.
2. Added a command line switch /tnnn to define the number of seconds
the CALL Window will be displayed. The default is 120 seconds.
NOTE: If the time is 0, the window will not pop up, but the caller's
information will still be written to the log file.
June 8, 1995 Version 1.1
1. Spelling corrections.
2. The phone book entry for the phone number is only 10 characters.
Do not include the dashes(-) in the entry field
3. The deletion of the phone entry in the caller log would sometimes
drop the first character of the next record. This has been corrected.
